Is sports betting a waste of time?

Is anyone making any money? I saw the entire history of picks for like 2 years and SSB is basically breaking even? Basketball made no one any money this year, baseball is losing this year and last year, hockey made no one any money, and then you consider the fees for the picks and the tons of hours spent getting the pick and finding the line and this SSB just looks like a big waste of time. Everyone's chief defense is the long run, but 2 complete seasons is long enough. I don't want to be here in 5 years and have people still telling me that we're not in the long-run yet.
